Job summary

We are recruiting an Application Specialist for Nikon Europe BV Healthcare Division (NEBV-HC) – Italy branch.  In this position, you will support the sales & training of Nikon’s high-end microscope systems product portfolio in Italia.

We are looking for someone who will have an outstanding understanding of Nikon’s products or similar and their application to customer needs and how these fit into the overall microscopy market and trends. You will be working in the European Applications & Support team and work closely with other HQ teams including Product Management, Marketing Communications & Service. You will support Italy branch colleagues and will have a strong customer focused mentality and will be proactive, organized and analytical.

What you will do

  • Sales support via demonstrations, workshops, conference attendance and assisting with qualification meetings, presentations and advising on sales strategy

  • Assisting with after-sales support by providing customer training and assisting with diagnosis of issues where required

  • Collaboration with European Product Managers to assist with new product testing and product launches

Job requirements

What we are looking for

  • Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) or equivalent work experience in a STEM degree. Preferably, this should in a life sciences, biomedical or biophysics subject.

  • Advanced light microscopy user experience, including acquisition and analysis software

  • Knowledge of advanced light microscopy technologies and concepts

  • Knowledge of microscopy techniques and applications eg. Confocal, super-resolution, light sheet, high content, FLIM & FRAP

  • Understanding of the laboratory environment

  • Knowledge of the microscopy industry and key manufacturers

  • Ability to convey complex technical information, written and verbal, to both experts and non-experts

  • Ability to build rapport and influence others

  • Ability to be away overnight and travel approximately 50% of the time within Europe (mainly Italy).

  • Location: Italy (Florence main office or Rome basis)

It will be a plus if you bring the following experience

● Experience of microscopy systems sales

● Experience with Nikon confocal products and NIS Elements software

● Experience in Sales training
