Job Summary
To strengthen our European Strategy, Product & Marketing department within the Healthcare division, we are looking to recruit a European Product Manager (Microscopy Accessories). You have a strong understanding of the assigned product portfolio focused on accessories for microscopes (cameras, light sources, filters, optics, incubators, work stations, hitting plates etc.). The accessories portfolio contains of both Nikon and 3rd party products. You are the main source of product knowledge and you will be the key person to deliver products within budget and timeframe to meet market demand and bring the product to the marketplace.
You will develop a deep understanding of market challenges and business plans in order to set the strategy and solution by developing marketing programs to build awareness, convert sales, and grow revenue. You will position the product in the market, set the direction by creating a compelling message that communicates the value of the product, and coordinate the launch to global regions in Europe across branch offices and distributors sales channels.
We are looking for a positive and driven person. You are part of our growing Healthcare business and you will work in close collaboration with Senior Management, other Product Managers, Application & Technical Specialists, Business Support, Branches, Distributors and Suppliers.
Main Responsibilities
- Guide the product from original concept through the product’s end of life.
- Develop unified European product strategy
- Develop market analysis
- Gather customer knowledge on trends and new products and applications
- Monitor product sales and controls performance vs. budget & forecast
- Assess product requirements and strategic direction based on emerging applications and market demands
- Support local partners with marketing and technical activities in collaboration with the Application Specialist
- Evaluate and test products from Nikon and 3rd party suppliers and define strategy for product launch
- Negotiate purchasing conditions of equipment from 3rd party suppliers
- Assist sales with day-to-day operations for microscope accessories (light sources, cameras, filters, optics etc.)
- Provide regular product presentations, marketing document and sales support materials
- Guide promotions, develop product content and provide content for social media
- Organize product launch with plan, schedule, documents for sales, service, support and promotional tools
- Coordinates the flow of market/customer information to headquarters and contribute to new development
Job requirements
Your Profile
- PhD or Master’s degree in Biology, chemistry, Physics or similar
- Diploma in marketing or product management appreciated
- 3+ years professional experience in a comparable position appreciated (preferably microscopy industry)
- Extensive knowledge of light microscopy and advanced Bioscience technologies
- Extensive knowledge in optics, imaging and software applications
- Experience in providing high quality customer service, to ensure customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded
- Solid verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English required)
- Interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and interact with people from different cultural backgrounds
- Strong attention to detail, accurate, organized and structured
- Approaches problem-solving proactively, creatively and analytically to reach optimal solutions
- Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Good knowledge of Excel to maintain the pricing
- Open to travel within Europe up to 15%
- Position located in Amstelveen, The Netherlands
