Join us, and you will be based at our European HQ in Amstelveen, South Amsterdam. A full working week is 37.5 hours, and we have a hybrid policy of 60/40 in favour of office-based work because we value real-world face-to-face communication. We pay more than average, including a bonus and fully paid pension plan. Your role as a Information Security Specialist will require some travel to European Offices.

Currently the Finance & Accounting department of Nikon Holdings Europe B.V. seeks to recruit an Senior General Ledger Accountant.

You will be part of the European Finance & Accounting department of Nikon Europe B.V. and report directly to the Finance Manager.


The Position

Main Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure a proper and contemporary bookkeeping incl. monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually closing (balance sheet, income statement, general ledger) for Nikon Europe BV.
  • Participating in month end closing operational process.
  • Responsible for Inventory stock provision management.
  • Responsible for I/C accounting & invoicing procedures.
  • Responsible for VAT and Intrastat filing.
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Main contact person for the Finance Center of Excellence (captive SSC).
  • Support business managers with financial information.
  • Bring in improvements through technology, process improvements and simplification of procedures.
  • Maintain Nikon’s accounting policies and procedures.

Tasks:

  • Manage of monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures.
  • Manage accounting records and analyse data.
  • Identification of deviations and clearance of (key) general Ledger (sub)accounts.
  • Performing J-SOX controls in your area.
  • Taking care of payroll accounting.
  • Handle European claims procedures.


Job requirements

The Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience within multiple facets of accounting & reporting.
  • Higher Educational level (HBO or higher degree) in financial education.
  • Experience in international setting is preferred, able to operate in a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with IFRS is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP FI/CO is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Dutch tax regulations is preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in English, which is the working language of Nikon Europe.
  • Show potential to grow and learn.
  • Understanding of international context with good communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Organizational skills.
