Join us, and you will be based at our European HQ in Amstelveen, South Amsterdam. A full working week is 37.5 hours, and we have a hybrid policy of 60/40 in favor of office-based work because we value real-world face-to-face communication.

Currently, the Corporate Sustainability department within the Business Support division seeks to recruit a Sustainability Coordinator.

More about the role

As the Sustainability Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating sustainability and ESG initiatives within NEBV and the Nikon Group in Europe to promote ethical and environmentally and socially responsible operations.

As a global brand, we not only face a number of regulatory challenges in Europe (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, Pay Transparency Directive, etc.), but also strive to go beyond compliance and meet expectations of our important stakeholders such as customers and business partners to build a more sustainable future. To tackle these challenges, you are expected to work in collaboration with various departments (HR, Legal, Finance, Audit, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, etc.). Your contribution is essential in taking our company and the Group to the next level in our journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the activities of the department.
  • Support the execution of sustainability strategies in alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Collect, analyze, and validate ESG data to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate sustainability principles into various business functions across the group companies.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Engage with stakeholders both internally and externally to promote sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of environmental stewardship.
  • Conduct research and analysis and produce reports.
  • Manage assigned projects.

Job requirements

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed a bachelor's degree.
  • Aspiration to learn and grow.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English required) with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Knowledge and relevant experience in sustainability and ESG.
  • Experience in working in a multinational and cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in business administration administrative processes – documentation, data checking, filing, record-keeping, organizing meetings and events.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent computer application knowledge (especially MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and structure.
  • Experience in dealing with Dutch and /or EU legislations would be a plus.
