Join us, and you will be based at our European HQ in Amstelveen, South Amsterdam. A full working week is 37.5 hours, and we have a hybrid policy of 80/20 in favour of office-based work because we value real-world face-to-face communication. We pay more than average, including a bonus and fully paid pension plan. Your role as a Information Security Specialist will require some travel to European Offices.


Currently, the ICT & Security department within the Business Support Division is seeking to recruit an Information Security Generalist.



Job Summary

The Information Security team (2 people) in Nikon Europe B.V. promotes high-end IT security in Nikon's European subsidiaries. The Information Security Generalist is responsible for maintaining and improving information security in Europe as a member of the Information Security team.

Initially, you will support the Digital Marketing team on their digital transformation journey, including topics like GDPR, regulatory requirements, data protection, data migration and security protocols. You will be doing this by working closely with the Digital Architect, Data Analyst, and Manager Digital Marketing.

You will also collaborate with the manager of the Information Security team and Nikon Corporation (NC) Information Security team, as well as with other stakeholders, to develop information security strategies aligned with business objectives.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for centralized planning, development, and implementation of information management policies, as well as cybersecurity measures.
  • Provide incident response and work together with the NC team.
  • Monitor information related laws such as GDPR and AI law.
  • Help to prevent security incidents, and assess the implementation status, including system security review and diagnosis.
  • Develop and implement information security strategies and policies aligned with business objectives.
  • Localize NC global rules and deploy them in European subsidiaries.
  • Conduct training sessions to ensure proper understanding and implementation of information security rules.
  • Conduct system security reviews and diagnostics to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remedial actions.
  • Collaborate with the NC Information Security team and Personal Data Protection Regulation (PDPR) team to provide incident response during emergencies.​


Job requirements

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional certifications in information security, such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH, are preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in information security, preferably in a multinational company.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data and other attack artifacts.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
  • In depth knowledge of MS 365 applications management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and frameworks related to information security, such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
  • Knowledge of IT/Security budget management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with management and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English required), other languages desirable (Japanese, Dutch, French, or German).
  • Proactive approach to high quality customer service delivery, through empathizing, anticipating customer needs and exceeding customer expectations.
