Job summary

Currently we are looking to recruit a Scientific Marketing Coordinator for the Healthcare division of Nikon Europe BV. 

You will become part of a small but dynamic and international Marketing & Communications team, where initiative is highly valued. 


In this position, you will be the key person to create and deliver scientific and technical marketing material, centered around microscopy applications, to promote and develop the Healthcare business. Therefore, a scientific background and previous microscopy experience are essential. The Scientific Marketing Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining relationships and collaborations with the Nikon Centers of Excellence, Nikon Imaging Centers and Nikon Microscopy Ambassadors in Europe. These are partnerships established between Nikon and key researchers or research institutes across Europe.


The primary responsibilities of this position are to create scientific marketing content, and to plan and implement the marketing communication strategy with the Nikon Centers and Ambassadors, offering solutions to enhance their awareness and their recognition in Europe and worldwide. This includes collecting data from the Centers and Ambassadors to generate marketing material and application notes if needed, and to maintain relationships with them during contract creation and quarterly reviews.


We are looking for a positive and driven person with experience in marketing, and with a strong science background. You are part of our growing Healthcare business, and you work in close collaboration with the Marketing Communication group, Product Managers, Application Specialists, Business Support, and local countries.

This role should be approached with a strong attitude to deliver customer service excellence to prospects and customers.


Main responsibilities

  • Scientific writing of application and technical marketing material, such as application notes, white papers and customer-facing presentations
  • Planning specific marketing events
  • Coordinate promotion in Nikon Centres, Ambassadors and Key Opinion Leaders
  • Support the branches and distributors with reviews and contracts for the Nikon Centres and Ambassadors

Job requirements

Your Profile

  • MSc or BSc in Biosciences, Chemistry or similar
  • 3+ years professional working experience in a comparable position, ideally in Healthcare sector
  • Good knowledge of light microscopy and advanced Bioscience technologies and marketplaces
  • Thorough understanding of how researchers use microscopy
  • Good working knowledge of scientific writing, application material development, SEO and content creation is preferred
  • Good experience and commitment in providing high quality customer service, to ensure customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded
  • Experience in project management or co-ordination, running multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with people at all levels (fluency in English required)
  • Ability to build strong relationships and interact with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A strong affinity with B2B marketing and/or science communities
  • Willingness to travel for approximately 25% within Europe
  • Position is located in our Amstelveen office


Desirable Profile

  • Diploma in marketing or product management
  • Practical use of Adobe suite of software products – Acrobat DC, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
  • Awareness/understanding of BI tools – MS Power BI/Tableau
