- On-site
- Amstelveen, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

Job description
More than 100 years ago, Nikon introduced its first microscope to the market. Today, Nikon develops advanced microscopy systems, leads technological developments, and supports groundbreaking research worldwide. Our main customers are universities, hospitals, and research centers.
The Goal
To strengthen our European technical service team, we are looking for a High-end Service Engineer. In this role you work from the European headquarters of Nikon Europe in Amstelveen. As a Service Engineer, you will analyze and identify technical (HW/SW) problems using system logs and testing instruments, repair and pre-install advanced microscopy systems at customer sites around Europe and in the workshop, and ensure the proper upkeep of demo systems and company assets. You will also provide remote technical service support to local Field Service Engineers from various Nikon branches throughout Europe. After completing your training, you will support customers on-site across Europe, with travel accounting for up to 50% of your working time. And finally, you will eventually provide training to new Service Engineers from Nikon branches and distributors and you will create technical manuals.
We are growing rapidly and our customers need good service. Naturally, we want to ensure that our microscopes do what we promise. As an Engineer you are therefore super important!
You work in an international environment and often collaborate with product managers and application and support specialists. There is a lot of room for your own initiative and it is appreciated if you have things in order. The working language within the organization is English.
A fellow engineer says: “You are working with various technologies, such as fine mechanical, optical, electrical and lasers. The variety between these is very nice, as is working in the special world of academic research. The involvement in new developments and working on progress every day is extremely cool.”
What are you going to do?
You will become a full-fledged team member, mastering all disciplines in the world of Microscopy Engineering. You work independently and together in the team. You have your own projects and repairs and divide the tasks that need to be carried out. There is room to grow and learn within Nikon.
You provide good service and carry out your own hardware and software troubleshooting and repairs to incoming microscopy systems
You support pre-installations of (high-end) microscopy products
You maintain demo equipment that we have under our own management
You provide high-quality technical service support to Nikon branches, distributors and customers.
You ensure timely submission of service reports, maintenance of the CRM system and your own administration.
